Back for Summer 2026 - Our 5th Year of Coaching with Candice Appleby

The 2026 SUP race season is upon us — are you ready?

Ocean Academy’s SUP Training Club will get you race-ready with focused training sessions designed to sharpen your race strategy, open-water technique, course management, and confidence on the water.

Whether you’re aiming to crush the Ontario SUP Series, SUP Nation races, Chattajack, ICF Worlds, take on your first race ever, or simply improve your paddling fitness, this club will give you the tools, skills, and training community to succeed.

What You’ll Learn

This is not your typical “clinic” — it’s training with purpose. Each session will highlight a specific topic while integrating interval-style training to build fitness and experience. Topics include:

  • Open water paddling techniques
  • Race starts & finishes
  • Drafting & pacing strategies
  • Course management for the various race formats
  • Reading conditions: swells, currents, tides & wind

Beyond the Group Sessions

In addition to our in-person group training sessions, you’ll receive a comprehensive supplemental training program with paddle, strength, core, and cardio workouts. These periodized workouts are designed around the local race schedule to help you peak on race day — and can be done on your own or with fellow club members.

Requirements & Recommendations

  • Racing boards only (12’6” or 14’)
  • PFDs required
  • Must be able to paddle at least 8km in 90 minutes
  • Arrive early! Workouts start promptly
  • Open water paddling will be included in some sessions
  • Bring a positive attitude and be ready to train hard, gain experience, make friends, and build confidence!

12 On-Water Coached Sessions - Plus 12 additional pre-programmed on-water workouts with an emphasis on that weeks learning objectives

Tuesdays - Starting June 16 - September 1, 2026

Location: Majority at 10th Line Beach, Innisfil
- will vary depending on programming focus and conditions - Rain or shine (no lightning or gale-force winds)
Other locations - C3, Caledon / Minets Point, Barrie / Wasaga Beach

Time: 6:30pm – 8:00pm

Full Season Early Bird Discount + 12 additional programmed workouts (24 Total Programmed Workouts )

24 either on-water and/or land based workouts - personalized for individual 2026 goals - $120 - PURCHASE

Equipment is not included in private coaching packages.
Rental equipment is available upon request at $30 per session.
